Maybe they are right, you know? Maybe you're one of them.

The lost boys (or girls). Yes, those lost kids from Neverland. You will never be like the others because you overflow yourself with your own feelings. You're not a rain drop; You're a deep ocean, and you're afraid of your own immensity because you have drowned others before.

But I'm telling you this right now: too bad they didn't know how to swim. It's okay to be like that. It's okay to be "dramatic". It's okay to be you. Believe me, you wouldn't want to be anyone else but you. How many times do I have to tell you that you are worth it? If someone else doesn't think so, then that's their problem, not yours. Yes, I'm the voice inside your head telling you exactly what you're hearing right now:

You are worth it.

What? Are you surprised that you have a nice voice telling you good things besides the ones bringing you down? I know, it's always surprising to realize how you are able to care about yourself. Now please, listen to me. You deserve the best. You deserve to love and to be loved. And you deserve to be heard. Do not diminish your struggles just because someone had it worse. Do not make yourself smaller just to make others bigger. Yes, they deserve the best. They deserve to be loved, to be heard, to be valued. So do you. Please, don't ever forget that. 'Cause it doesn't make sense to love the world if you don't love the world that exists inside of you.

Love. Love with everything you are because this is what this world needs. But please, I beg you: don't ever forget to love yourself first. It's okay to be a little bit selfish. It's okay to put yourself above the ones you love the most sometimes – but only sometimes – because in the end, you're going to be the only one you've got.

Get up from this bed you're laying right now and go look at yourself in the mirror. Just stare at the miracle you are. Think about it for a few seconds. Put your hands on your chest, feel the heat in between. Feel your heart beating. Then, pay attention to the way you breathe. Feel the air getting into your lungs. Think about the trees that "made" every particle of that oxygen specially for you.

Now think about your scars, it doesn't matter if they are on your skin or in your soul. Just think about them for a while. You saved yourself so many times before. You got up from that floor you spent nights and nights crying by yourself. You stopped yourself when you wanted to hurt yourself, or even when you wanted to leave this world. You're a hero. You're your own hero. Don't ever feel ashamed of that, not even for a second.

Love yourself when you start thinking that you're not good enough to be loved. Love yourself when they think you're being dramatic just because you feel too much. Love yourself when you're not feeling okay with your body. Love yourself when you're not feeling pretty. Yeah, it's okay to feel "unpretty" sometimes, but only sometimes. Love yourself when you're wrong. You're only human. I understand that you make mistakes. Love yourself when everything goes wrong. Love yourself when you're not okay. Love yourself when you're sorry. Love yourself when you're lost. Love yourself when they make you feel like you're hard to be loved; And prove them wrong!

Love yourself even if you love someone more than they love you.

Just please, love yourself too.
